Starknet Launches STRK20 Standard to Drive Privacy in Blockchain Transactions
Starknet has introduced the STRK20 token standard, a pivotal development aimed at enhancing privacy for blockchain transactions. This new standard allows privacy-centered stablecoins to flourish while maintaining regulatory compliance. Public blockchains typically expose wallet addresses, amounts, and counterparties—details institutions often prefer to shield. STRK20 addresses this by enabling private balances and transfers by default.
The standard builds on Starknet’s native zero-knowledge (ZK) architecture, offering a seamless way to transact without revealing sensitive data. Users can swap on decentralized exchanges, interact with lending protocols, or move funds discreetly. Privacy-focused altcoins have already seen volatility amid growing demand, signaling a broader shift toward confidential transactions in crypto.
